I don't know if it's a mistake, but it certainly would be a pain to fix. It'd be easier to remove all colwidth info. I'll wait for convincing arguments and suggestions on how to tackle it. -- David Goodger http://starship.python.net/~goodger For hire: http://starship.python.net/~goodger/cv Docutils: http://docutils.sourceforge.net/ (includes reStructuredText: http://docutils.sf.net/rst.html) |

But... I now have a file, index2.txt containing:: Something before. +--------------------------+ | .. include:: ./left1.txt | +--------------------------+ Something afterwards. whilst file left1.txt contains:: This text. When I now run html.py on index2.txt, with output to index2.html, I don't get the "Something afterwards". Attempting to study this a little further: using quicktest -p on said file, the result is:: <document source="index2.txt"> <paragraph> Something before. <table> <tgroup cols="1"> <colspec colwidth="26"> <tbody> <row> <entry> <paragraph> This text. which matches what I am observing in the HTML result (i.e., it's not the Writer that is at fault). (incidentally, and entirely separately, where do those "colwidth" values come from? If they are indeed just the width in characters of the table entries, then the width of the ".. include::" statement is clearly being used for the left column, which is both a mistake and (I'd guess) a pain to fix.) Unfortunately, it's now my bedtime, so I can't look any further tonight, and shan't have time to try to explore tomorrow (family commitments). I *shall* understand entirely if you put this aside for the moment as a not-terribly-urgent issue, and maybe (I still remember that "wimp"!) I should try to follow it through on Monday. All the best, Tibs |

So thanks (as ever) for the quick response. All the best, Tibs |
