Double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel has received a custom gold-painted Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 to celebrate his historic victories in the road race and time trial at the Paris Olympics. The Belgian debuted his new Olympic gold-themed bike and kit at the Tour of Britain, which started on Tuesday, September 3, and is set to wrap up on Sunday, September 8.

The striking bike, designed by Specialized, features a dazzling gold paint job and matches the high-performance specs Evenepoel usually races with. Additionally, his Soudal Quick-Step team kit features subtle gold accents alongside the rainbow bands from his 2022 World Championship win in Wollongong, Australia.

“It’s a special jersey with gold bands,” Evenepoel told Het Laaste Nieuws ahead of the Tour of Britain. “I had to fight for it quite a bit because the UCI insisted that the rainbow bands were preferred, but luckily, I got both,” the Belgian said.

Evenepoel will lead the field at the Tour of Britain, which starts in Kelso, Scotland. The event also features a strong INEOS-Grenadiers squad with Tom Pidcock and Ethan Hayter. Evenepoel is the favorite for the overall win, with the race concluding in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
