HTML - DOM Document renameNode() Method



HTML DOM document renameNode() Method is used to rename the nodes. Reanmed nodes should be of type Element and Attr. This method is deprecated.

Syntax

document.renameNode(node, namespaceURI, nodename);

Parameter

This method takes following three parameters which are listed below

Parameters Description
node It reprsents the node which you want to rename.
namespaceURI It represents namespace URI of the node.
nodename It represents the new nodename for the node.

Return value

It returns the renamed node.

Renaming <h1> node

In the given example, we have renamed the 'H1' node to 'tp' and a message is shown.
