Will auto generating gemini API key cost me money

hello new to firebase studio was wondering if auto generating an API key will cost me,

i was trying out the studio by giving prompts for simple application, but there was an prompt that i need a Gemini API key to proceed and i clicked on auto generate without thinking much about it now I’m realizing that this might be billable, can anyone help me understand if i will be billed for this activity.

I don’t think so. I haven’t really set my billing yet, but it still works for me. I just clicked it anyway.

And that’s if your app needs AI. Which is what they want by default. During the planning steps, say you don’t need ai in the app and it won’t ask for a key.
