⚡ Flexibility is entering a new phase in the Czech Republic! ⚡   We’re excited to see the Czech TSO, ČEPS, a.s., take a major step forward in technological innovation! Delta Green aggregated households into a 1 MW flexibility unit, partnered with our own Nano Energies to provide flexibility optimization, and ČEPS supported and certified this technological milestone. This is the first time Czech homes can provide ancillary services to the grid.   While Nano Energies remains focused on utility-scale flexibility, this achievement highlights the growing role of distributed resources in grid balancing. Milestone Achieved: Our First Battery Storage in Germany! ⚡ This is a significant moment for Second Foundation. We successfully completed the DSO tests on our first own battery storage system Germany, this 10 MW system in Königsee. ✅ We have been on commercial testing and operation this week on the Intraday and Day-Ahead markets. The whole team is excited, and we are not stopping. There are more projects planned, stay tuned. After years of experience, 2+ GW of renewable assets and 200+ MW flexible assets under management in EU and Japan, developing an own BESS is a next step in our mission to optimize power grid and contribute to modern energy sector. That’s why Second Foundation is proud to support Stan se na den vědkyní, an amazing initiative by Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering CTU in Prague (FJFI) that gives high school girls a chance to explore the world of science and research. And guess what? One of our own, Karolína, a proud FJFI graduate and now a trader at Second Foundation, will be part of a panel discussion—sharing insights, experiences, and (hopefully!) inspiring future scientists. Everyone has a couple of topics that really hit home. For me, it's education. So when Vít Masopust from People in Need invited us to the Jeden svet festival, I instantly knew I had to see Radical—a bittersweet story about a Mexican teacher whose unorthodox methods inspire a whole generation of students. I cried. A couple of times. Because I truly believe teachers play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and guiding their futures. I wasn’t lucky enough to have those kinds of role models, which is why I’m so proud that Second Foundation supports NGOs dedicated to improving this space. We even rolled up our sleeves and started Křídla to ensure talented teachers stay in the classroom, rather than moving to the private sector. I’m also thrilled to see our friends at Qminers launch Matika pro Česko. It fills me with joy to see these two close projects supporting great educators in delivering top-notch math and computer science education. And it’s not just about math. Začni učit! is another fantastic initiative we support. I’m still hoping they take up my idea to host another Radical screening, so more people can feel what I felt and get inspired to support better education. Better education leads to better lives—and a better future for us all.
