Google aggregates use for all\nprojects linked to your billing account for the applicable month.\n\nPricing is associated with SKUs. A stock keeping unit (SKU) is a distinct item\nfrom Google Maps Platform associated with a product, and a product can have\nmore than one SKU associated with it. Each SKU has an associated price, listed\nas a cost per 1000 billable events, known as *cost per mille* or CPM. For\ndetails on prices and SKUs, see the following:\n\n- [Pricing](/maps/billing-and-pricing/pricing)\n- [Pricing - India](/maps/billing-and-pricing/pricing-india)\n- [SKU details](/maps/billing-and-pricing/sku-details)\n\n| **Note:** India pricing is available only to India-based customers that incur a large majority of their usage in India and are billed in India. See [India currency and price eligibility](#india_currency_and_price_eligibility) for details.\n\nGoogle Maps Platform pricing programs\n\nThis section covers key pricing incentives with Google Maps Platform.\n\nFree usage caps and volume discounts\n\nGoogle Maps Platform offers two kinds of price discounts:\n\n- **Free usage caps**. To help you identify, evaluate, and test our service, each SKU provides free billable events every month, the quantity of which depends on the price category the SKU belongs to. This free usage resets on the first day of each month, at midnight Pacific US time.\n- **Volume discounts**. All Google Maps Platform Core Services SKUs have usage-based volume discounts scaling to millions. These discounts happen automatically and require no special action on your part. As you expand your usage, you are automatically billed for usage that falls into each price tier.\n\nFor specific details and examples, see\n[Pricing](/maps/billing-and-pricing/pricing) or [Pricing - India](/maps/billing-and-pricing/pricing-india).\n\nFirst billing account incentives\n\nIf you are a first-time Google Maps Platform user and you have not yet set\nup a billing account, you can take advantage of these incentives:\n\n| | Google Cloud first billing account | Google Maps Platform first billing account |\n| What is it | Google Cloud offers a trial where you can use up to **$300 at no-charge** . The trial applies toward the first billing account you create. For more information, see [Google Cloud Trial Program](https://cloud.google.com/free/docs/gcp-free-tier). | If the first Cloud Billing account you create is used for a project with Google Maps Platform APIs or SDKs enabled, **both** the Google Cloud $300 trial **and** the Google Maps Platform free usage cap apply. |\n| How it works | During the trial, your first Cloud Billing account has **no charges against your payment method**. The trial ends after the trial period elapses, or when the $300 is spent, whichever happens first. | During the trial, charges are first applied against the Google Maps Platform free usage cap for each SKU used. If usage exceeds the spending cap in a given month, charges against the exceeded usage are applied to the Google Cloud $300 trial, until all $300 is exhausted. |\n| What's next? | On or before the trial ends, you must upgrade your first Cloud Billing account to a paid account to avoid any disruptions to your Google Maps Platform usage. See [Upgrading to a paid account](https://cloud.google.com/free/docs/gcp-free-tier#how-to-upgrade). | Again, on or before the trial ends, you must upgrade your first Cloud Billing account to a paid account. Once you have upgraded, the free usage caps continue to apply to your Cloud Billing account, even after the trial ends. |\n|--------------|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|\n\n**Key Point:** A **Google Maps-related billing account** is any Cloud Billing account that includes projects with Google Maps Platform APIs or SDKs enabled; or more specifically, projects with activity that results in charges for qualifying Google Maps Platform SKUs. \n**Multiple billing accounts** Creating multiple Google Maps-related Cloud Billing accounts is a violation of the [Google Maps Platform Terms of Service](https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms).\n\nEssentials, Pro, and Enterprise categories\n\nTo help you find the best fit based on the type of customization you need for\nyour implementation, Google Maps Platform divides its offerings into\ncategories --- **Essentials** , **Pro** , and **Enterprise** . Each is designed to\ncater to different business needs and usage patterns, and includes free^1^\nbillable events per Core Service SKU each month. You can further customize\ncapabilities by mixing and matching across Essentials, Pro, and Enterprise to\nallow for the greatest flexibility.\n\n| Essentials | Integrate the essentials of Google Maps into your applications.
