In the previous worksheets we were working with regular and irregular verbs and past time
expressions. These are basic parts to write affirmative sentences in simple past tense.
En las guías de trabajo previas estuvimos trabajando con verbos regulares e irregulares y
expresiones de tiempo pasado. Éstas son partes básicas para escribir oraciones afirmativas en
pasado simple.

We use simple past tense to talk about past, something that started in the past and
finished. To write affirmative sentences in simple past we need a subject (the person who
did the action) + a verb in past (it doesn’t matter if the verb is regular or irregular, it’s
always in past) + a complement (there could be more than one. If we use time expressions,
they go at the end). Usamos el pasado simple para hablar acerca del pasado, algo que empezó
en el pasado y ya terminó. Para escribir oraciones afirmativas en pasado simple necesitamos un
sujeto (quién hizo la acción) + un verbo en pasado (no importa si el verbo es regular o irregular,
siempre está en pasado) + un complemento (puede haber más de uno. Sí usamos expresiones de
tiempo, ellas van al final)

Alice ate pasta yesterday. Alice comió pasta ayer.
