Currently, I am doing my Ph.D. in the field of host-pathogen interaction. The topic of my dissertation is "A study on defense related transcripts during seed development in Vigna mungo upon infestation by Callosobruchus spp". The prime objectives of my work are 1. Analyze expression of selected defense-related genes in developing seeds of blackgram upon infestation by bruchids. 2. Clone key defense-related genes of blackgram against bruchids. 3. Characterize biochemical composition of inhibitor proteins in blackgram seeds.
