- 10. There are different ways to say “You” in Spanish. Tú= you (singular, familiar) Usted= you (singular, polite)
- 11. Tú= you (singular, familiar) Usted= you (singular, polite) “Usted” is the polite “you”. It uses the same verb form as “he/she”. ¿Qué vas a tomar? ¿Qué va a tomar? (What are you (What are you –polite- -familiar- going to going to have?) have?)
- 12. The difference between “Tú” and “Usted” At a restaurant, you would ask a friend “¿Qué vas a tomar?” (“What are you – familiar- going to have?”), whereas a waiter, who does not personally know you, would ask you “¿Qué va a tomar?” (“What are you –polite- going to have?”).
