• #4: Slide Objective: Discuss the pace of change and highlight the challenges that modern organizations face. We live in a world where devices outnumber people and create more data than people can consume. The pace of change is faster than ever. Technology has led to disruptions in our personal and our professional lives. The world has changed. We used to talk about trends as if they were in silos – CoIT, BYOD, IoT etc. The trends are still important and have impact by themselves, but their combined impact is greater, and we need to reimagine productivity in order to remain successful as individuals and as companies. We are productive when we make things, and make things happen. Sometimes on our own, but more often together.   But first… what’s at stake?
• #5: Slide Objective: Introduce modern content creation through the lens of Yammer and OneDrive People can access the documents from wherever they are, on whatever device they're on. Natively saving to the cloud is something that really changes how you interact with documents. Earlier we discussed the need to move from tools focused on our individual abilities to tools that empower social productivity. Ubiquitous cloud services and device access are just part of what we believe powers our vision of the modern workplace. Tools like Yammer, OneDrive, and features like co-authoring allows idea generation and crowd sourcing to happen in real time. Another way we are doing this is creating opportunities for people to be more productive from wherever they are.
• #6: Slide Objective: Introduce modern mobility through the lens of Skype for Business We believe in a world of Office Everywhere – from Windows to Macintosh, iPhone to Android. We also believe people should be able to connect and be productive from wherever they are. One example of that is Skype for Business. It’s the familiar experience of Skype that users love, with all the security, compliance and control of Lync that businesses count on. With the best of Lync, and the best of Skype, we believe that Skype for Business will again transform the way people communicate by giving organizations reach to hundreds of millions of Skype users outside the walls of their business. Finally, we recognize the power of our networks across our personal and work lives. Leveraging the principles of social networking that we are all familiar with from our personal lives and bringing these capabilities into the workplace, not in a silo, but are core platform capabilities. Microsoft is a productivity and platforms company—that is our unique contribution to technology. With Office, 25 years ago we unleashed an unprecedented wave of productivity for the planet. Today there is no one who takes such a broad view of productivity. We think about productivity across individuals, teams/groups, and organizations.

• #11: So, what kinds of apps are we talking about, that PowerApps can create? Well, everything. Everything from the very tactical, short term systems of innovation that might last a day or a week, to the longer-cycle efforts which might contribute to a year-long business campaign, all the way to new access into the true bedrock systems that exist indefinitely and receive continual IT investment. PowerApps reduces the cost of small projects addressing relatively trivial functions that can’t be prioritized on to the engineering backlog (a quick internal survey? responding to a temporary situation?), and increases the value of new interfaces for bread-and-butter systems like CS (customer support) and CRM (customer relations management) by putting the creativity into the hands of the business users who will need to use the information, and making it mobile so they can use it where they want, when they want.

What’s required for an app development solution to be truly effective is for users to have the ability to easily deploy and share their useful solutions across all the places, teams, and devices that will find value in them. Seen from another perspective, that all users are able to browse and discover new ideas and solutions, easily install and use them across their devices, and even modify them to make an exact fit for themselves. And all this with the security and oversight your business demands.
