Poll success status 0 (111) in image-rich site

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Gallery Menalto 3.0
2. Install modpagespeed
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Memory consumption growing extremly fast, also there is a lot of connections 
with status CLOSE_WAIT. Yesterday I have installed this gallery and 
modpagespeed and today morning I found hang Apache server with 39G log. 
Houpfully it was only testing server. I suggest to not use this module in 
production - its dangerous. My friend also had the same problem on production 
server with Debian 5 x64.
