  • I have confirmed this bug exists on the latest version of pandas.

  • (optional) I have confirmed this bug exists on the master branch of pandas.


Code Sample, a copy-pastable example

import pandas as pd
pd.read_excel('test.xlsx', header=[0, 1], index_col=0, engine='openpyxl')

(engine could be xlrd or openpyxl, doesn't matter.)
