Simple Present Tense

Empregamos o Simple Present Tense para descrever uma ação habitual, que ocorre
frequentemente.
Ex: Teenagers buy a different type of clothes.________________________________________
Como se usa simple present?
O tempo verbal simple present é utilizado em língua inglesa para falar de ações cotidianas,
hábitos, verdades, fatos, costumes, características. Devemos utilizar o tempo verbal simple
present para descrever ações em geral. Qual é a estrutura do simple present?O simple present pode
ser formado na afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa seguindo as regras de uso explicadas abaixo:
Afirmativa: Formado pelo sujeito + verbo principal, sendo que ao ser conjugado na terceira
pessoa do singular precisa do acréscimo das partículas “s”, “ies” ou “es”. Quais os verbos do
present simple?

sell, work, drink, start (acrescentar -s em he, she, it) ...
open, live, like, need (acrescentar -s em he, she, it) ...
go, fix, watch, kiss (acrescentar -es em he, she, it) ...
study, fly, cry, deny (-y precedido de consoante: remover -y e acrescentar -ies em he, she, it)
Quando se usa o do e does?
A diferença entre o uso de do e o uso de does é que:
1. does: é usado com a terceira pessoa do singular (he, she e it);
2. do: é usado com as demais pessoas (I, you, we ethey).
Para que serve o past simple?
O Simple Past é usado para falar sobre ações que foram finalizadas no passado, assim como
situações ou costumes que se repetiam e não acontecem mais. Para identificar o tempo verbal
de uma frase, procure pelo verbo.
1. Affirmative form
Forma-se o Simple Present com o acréscimo, ao verbo de
- s à forma simples, na terceira pessoa do singular (_____, _____, _____)
Ex: She plays tennis.
- es se o verbo terminar em o, sh, ch, x, z, s
Ex: He goes to school by bus.
- ies se o verbo terminar em y e for precedido de consoante
Ex: She studies in Rio.
- HAVE: ter, possuir, 3ª pessoa do presente: HAS
- Com os pronomes (_____, _____, _____, ______) o verbo permanece no infinitivo sem o to.
Ex: I do my homework in the morning.
2. Negative and Interrogative form
- Na negativa, com os pronomes _____, _____, _____, _____ usamos o auxiliar do + not + verbo
(no infinitivo sem to). Na 3ª pessoa do singular (_____, _____, _____) substituímos o do por does.
- Na interrogativa o auxiliar (do/does) antecede o sujeito.
- Contrações: do + not = don’t
does + not = doesn’t
