About this audiobook
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.
The pressures from social expectations and workplace demands often leave us feeling overwhelmed, struggling to navigate through the complexities of daily life.
In a world that seems to constantly demand more from men, this book offers an essential toolkit rooted in ancient wisdom. It gently navigates you through the core concepts of stoicism, demonstrating their relevance in today's fast-paced environment. More than a philosophical discourse, it becomes a companion on your journey to mastering life's challenges.
Specifically, you will discover:
- Why so many successful people are stoic
- The counterintuitive reason you should welcome misfortune
- Stoicism’s four virtues and how you can apply them in any situation
- How you can find opportunity in any challenge
- How you can welcome hardship – and why this is an essential ingredient for happiness
- How plato’s view will transform the way you see the world
- Why you will never have complete control over your life and this is okay
Stoicism may be an ancient philosophy, but it is one that has even more relevance to our daily lives now that we are in the modern world. Too often we find that we aren’t able to control our lives, control the events that go on, or even control the people and how they act.
But with stoicism, we learn that we can control some things, such as our emotions and our reactions, and this can help to lead us to happiness.

You don't have to agree with every thought or quote in philosophy to be able and sit with it, in thought, to see how it shaped your nature. I started with the Daily Dad book and this just helps on the more personal level of Stoic thought and virtues. It will be read every year!1 person found this helpful

great introduction to the major stoic writers. I get a lot out of this, read it every morning. It's a paragraph by a stoic writer, followed by a couple of paragraphs of explanation or examples. I think it's a great way to learn about stoics and a cool way to start the mornings by reading something a little more profound than whatever cat video or think piece is on my phone.1 person found this helpful

I recently became interested in the Stoics after listening to some podcasts. I was told that reading some of the writings could be daunting and this book was recommended to me. It is great because it has the original writing as well as an interpretation/meaning of the essay/writing which is great. It definitely helped me understand the writings better and I don't think I would have understood them as well without the interpretation. I great resource to start if you have an interest.1 person found this helpful

An interesting book that made me think about life and current events. The philosophy of Stoicism is a great direction in psychology in my opinion. These thoughts are based on the works of ancient Greeks and Romans like Emperor Marcus Aurelius and others. At the same time, they are very suitable for today's time. It helped me cope with some stress in my life. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This stoicism book is incredibly thoughtful. It encourages you to look in different arenas of your life (career, relationships, etc) through a stoic lens. The writing is approachable, and it promotes some reflection through exercises in each section. The glossary is helpful, and it makes stoicism approachable. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is a book about how to learn becoming a Stoic. Very practical and akin to a "how to do" book about Stoicism. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Stoicism is a philosophical approach aimed at emulation of those rare individuals born with all its qualities. My wife of 54 years is a stoic: I just needed someone to define her. This book is recommended to those with a curious nature. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

At first, I thought this book was a bit sophomoric; now I love it. I read a chapter a day so I can ruminate on the reading for the day. This is not a book to rush through. I think I should continually review it as Stoicism is so necessary in today's endless news-cycles of garbage. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

This is my companion to the daily journal published by the same author. Each day I read this and it gives me the inspiration for my Journaling and daily reflection. It's an enduring read because the day step into is not the same as yesterday. I need this to keep me grounded, clear my head and hold myself accountable. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I've been interested in philosophy for a long time and applying it to my own life. Too many focus on who said something and what they said or imposing their opinion of it on us. We're talking about an ancient civilization and language as foreign to us as a moon in a distant galaxy but the wisdom is there. This book discusses what was said and who said it, but that's just the reference point. It's been very helpful to me and I highly recommend it as well as the related YouTube channel. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

It is easy to read and understand, great contents on philosophy (mainly stoic as well as little glimpses of others that are referenced). It is short and concise, quick to read and digest. I enjoyed every YouTube video of the author prior to buying and reading this book which was also very enjoyable.1 person found this helpful
