Rick’s first book, Out of the Forest (no longer in print) was a 2008 Christian Choice Book Award winner. In addition to his passion for writing, he serves as a deacon and Bible study teacher at The Heights Church, and he and Bev have participated on mission trips all over the world. Professionally, he is an investment adviser. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Baylor University, graduating summa cum laude, and has studied at Rockbridge Seminary. Rick enjoys playing the guitar and writing worship songs as well as hiking and backpacking, and he and Bev have hiked many miles on the Appalachian Trail, the Grand Canyon, and Mount Kilimanjaro.view less
