Aloma Mendoza
Dr. Aloma Mendoza has an extensive background in higher education as a college and university faculty, in Toronto, Canada and the United States. She has also been employed as a faculty coordinator, educational program coordinator. At present, Dr. Mendoza works as an editor and tutor. She is an adjunct faculty, teaching online, blended, and traditional in-class courses in social sciences at Argosy University. She also teaches university courses via Video Conferencing at Saint Leo University. She participates in researching, identifying, selecting, and developing materials to assist students with their educational needs. To accomplish these goals, she conducts language proficiency consultations and provides students with instructional materials to match their correct level of language complexity. As an editor and proofreader, Dr. Mendoza has worked with undergraduate and graduate students who are working on theses and dissertations. She has worked with students who are completing their theses in theology, business, social work, and counseling. When editing, Dr. Mendoza not only identifies the grammatical and punctuation errors but she makes suggestions and/or correct them.

Making a decision to attend any post-secondary institution as an adult learner is a very important step. To make such a major decision you would have had to think seriously about the pros and the cons of what becoming adult college or university students entail. The moment you began thinking of attending a post-secondary institution, many questions may have popped into your heads such as: How is this going to affect my life? Is college necessary for me at this time? Could I make it in life without attending college? Am I too old to start studying again? What will happen if I cannot understand what the professors are requesting of me? You may even have a list of self-identified deficiencies such as not being able to use the computer, not being able to read fast, having been out of school for many years, not being a good writer, and so on. The excuses could be endless because your concerns are genuine. In addition, being afraid of the unknown is quite normal.
