About this ebook
The project is a hand felted vest having LED's and displays on its surface.
The fabric of the vest is "folded" and the way one makes felt from wool ( the way of making layers and using patches) is for me a metaphor for "the fabric of space-time".
To give the vest a purpose, i created the possibility of "adopting" an exoplanet. The idea of this was that if people relate to the wonders of the universe, they will be a little bit less likely to fight each other....(i am an optimistic artist).

Introduction
Wearable
The exovest is a wearable. The garment is made of felt and has electronic components like LED's and displays. The purpose of the vest is to show a connection between data coming from space and the daily life of the person who wears the vest.
Purpose
The purpose of the wearable in general is to explore the possibilities of technology in clothing. Technology can mean micro-controllers, sensors and actuators, like LED's and liquid crystal displays, sometimes the challenge is to make the technical aspects as reduced as possible (see the scarf measuring pollution): reference 1.
Challenge
The challenge was to make the connection between the person wearing the vest and the space data possible and to give it a purpose.
