A book of sarcasm, aimed at mocking the emo stereotype and Twilight. I found it extremely amusing. It's a really quick, light, fun read and definitely entertaining. The little pictures were fun, too.

Tim Collins Notes from a Totally Lame Vampire
Have you ever liked a girl, but didn’t know how to approach her? Well Nigel has, he had a BIG crush on a girl name Chloe. Chloe is a typical teenager unlike Nigel, he is a vampire. You would think vampires have speed, strength, good eyesight, and could since the blood they need. Nigel on the other hand doesn’t, he can’t even get his own blood, Nigel’s parents have to do it.

I would really recommend this book to kids who admire/like vampires.

Nigel’s little sister, does not know what she wants in her life. That’s meaning that she can’t figure out if she want to drink human blood or animal blood.

My experience reading this book was really good, I was so into it I read it while in the tub.

Nigel is a high school student, who is about to celebrate his 100th birthday. Nigel starts to keep a diary of this momentous year.
Back in the early 20th century, Nigel and his sister where taken from an orphanage and made into vampires.
Nigel's dad claims that they are the last vampires on earth. Nigel unfortunately was not graced with superspeed or good looks like most vampires (of lore and his family) and may be even weaker than when he was human. A new girl moved into school over Christmas break; her name is Chloe. Nigel falls for her, but is afraid to express his feelings.
Will Nigel ever discover his vampire superpowers? Who is sucking the life out of the local villagers? And will Chloe ever realized that Nigel is her true soulmate? Illustrated by Andrew Pinder. Recommended grades 7 and up.

A fun read for young tweens/teens who will no doubt be amused at Nigels inability to sparkle, run a lap of the gym or get a higher grade than a C in maths despite being nearly 100 years old. Kids will empathise with his burdens - his bratty younger sister, clueless parents, school bullies and unrequited crush. The diary format, including the obligatory bad poetry and amusing sketches, and Collins simple style makes it accessible for even the reluctant reader. Light hearted and fun, Diary of a Wimpy Vampire is a good read for it's targeted audience.
