Claudia Jennings was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before moving to Evanston, Illinois for her high school years. She joined a theater company in Chicago and while working as a receptionist at the Playboy Building she was asked to pose nude for Playboy Magazine. Her September 1969 centerfold was followed by Playmate of the Year honors and a film career in the coming years. Jennings starred in mostly b-movies playing characters with determined personalities, individuals who were determined and strong. Most of her film roles depict women who are skilled at riding whether it be motorcycles, big trucks, or sports cars.

Claudia Jennings (December 20, 1949-October 3, 1979) once confided in an interview that the Playboy bunnies who lived at the Chicago mansion rated the playboys who made plays for them. They did so by keeping a score sheet that they posted on an upstairs bulletin board.

hen she was selected Playmate of the Year for 1970 Claudia said it represented $5,000 to her. Contrary to this her parents were horrified, especially her father. Jennings was working as a part-time guide at Chicago's Playboy mansion when she was asked to pose nude as Playmate of the Month for November 1969. After a little coy hesitation, she had said, OK. Claudia Jennings was born Mary Eileen Chesterton in Ramsey, Minnesota on December 20, 1949. She was the daughter of Gerard Alfred Chesterton (August 25, 1924-1990) and Joan Marie Houle (1928-2013).
