Our genes are hardwired to survive at all cost. Discover how this selfish instinct has evolved life from the first organisms in the primordial soup to all the wonderful complexities of human beings.
From the color of our hair and even down to our seemingly altruistic parental instincts, our genes are acting on their own selfish impulse to conquer and survive. It is this basic drive that determines every behavior and characteristic in each and every living thing on the planet. Richard Dawkins gives an essential guide to genetics, and how life has evolved driven by The Selfish Gene.
You will learn:
· How life began in the primordial soup
· What phenotypes are, and how they ensure the survival of the fittest
· Why a parent's altruistic behaviour might not be as selfless as it seems.

What’s it about?
Scientific tests and studies in recent times have proven that humans and chimpanzees share 99.5 percent of their genes, which reaffirms the scientific fact that the human race evolved from much lower organisms. One wouldn’t have to look beyond Darwin’s theory of evolution to know that the present human form is the result of several changes that have occurred throughout nature over a period of time. This change or evolution as a whole begins with something scientists refer to as a gene. As life undergoes the process of creation, genes get transferred from one cell to another. This is how all organisms, including humans, come into existence.
The method through which these genes survive is one of selfishness: not in the context of morality, but in the context of programmed survival. This selfishness is what has led to the survival of organisms that you see today. Even humans are a direct result of what these selfish genes
have been programmed to do. Genes decide all the physiological and psychological characteristics of a human being as well as that of other organisms. Even our moral and altruistic behaviors are programmed by genes into our psyche for the purpose of survival. This is why we love our own kind and protect them. As humans, it is our genetic duty to
