About the Author
In the Middle
In the middle of the night
In the middle of nowhere
Meet me by the side of the highway,
And we’ll make all kinds of plans
That no one else will understand
And all the songs I’ve yet to write
And all the times I’ve yet to share
And you will all be waiting there,
All of this just inches from my hands
And tomorrow night we can do it again
If I stay and if you go
Or if I never even know
The seconds that ticked by
Where you were walking by my side
What do I say, how could you know?
If you stay and if I go
I hope
I’ll find a way to let you know
In the middle of the room
With light shining down on you
Meet me away from my anxiety
And can I be part of your plans?
There’s so much I can’t understand
And all the secrets that I keep
All the people I could meet
The different people I could try to be
All of this just hanging in the air
Waiting for me to reach up there
If I stay and
