About this ebook
Thinking about bicycling to work? Not interested in wearing lycra because it emphasises everything that you want to hide? Not sure where to buy a bicycle or how much to spend? What about the mystery of keeping hair and clothing in place and keeping sweat at bay? Women are free to choose a career, education, life partner. Why not choose the bicycle for even greater freedom? If you've had any of these thoughts or are interested in making a sustainable change for yourself, you've found a solution with "How to Bicycle to Work - A Guide for Women".
Sarah Imm, founder of the lifestyle brand Vélo-à-Porter, goes on to explain how riding in the rain is possible and preferable to taking public transport or driving in today's congested cities. With good humour, the author explains in detail how it can be done. Having done so for five years in Sydney, one of the most bicycle-unfriendly cities on the planet, she includes photos which show her in clothing suitable for the office, usually a dress and heels, bicycling around the City of Sydney. The author has searched for the best ways to carry her belongings to the office, figured out how to wear a skirt and heels on a bike and has a series of tests for choosing a great bicycle shop. Knowing how to bicycle and being able to ride to a few destinations already will make this book more helpful to readers.

Sarah H. Imm, the founder of the lifestyle brand Vélo-à-Porter, is originally fromMinneapolis, Minnesota via South Korea. She bicycled as a child, intermittently at TheUniversity of Chicago, commuted to work in New York (before it was sexy) and not atall while living in London. Her excuse was that the traffic was going the wrong way.She spent nineteen years as an investment banker in New York, London, HongKong, Seoul and Sydney. She started bicycling to work in 2012. This inspired 'How toBicycle to Work'. Still car-less, she now owns five bicycles. (E-bike, hybrid, cargotricycle, mountain bike, road bike) She loves eating delicious food and shopping forelegant clothing. Bicycling makes these two diametrically opposed loves possible. Sarahlives in Sydney with her husband and two children.

About the Author
Foreword
"Sarah Imm has habituated herself to cycling in what has been described as one of the world's most unfriendly cities for cycling, Sydney, Australia. But don't expect advice about fighting for your rights or your life. Sarah goes with her city the way a good sailor goes with the wind and because of that writes about cycling for transport with a sense of real glee. She has much to be happy for too: weight control, more money, and the clear head she needs to be sassy. Those are all things, I am guessing, a young mother wants.
So forget about lycra or having a chain ring tattooed on your calf. After this concise read you'll be leaving work parties the moment you decide they've turned bad. You will be flooring everyone with fitness you can't get from a gym. You'll feel rich and time-rich. And further to all of that, you will feel like a woman who cycles, not someone trying to imitate men."

Introduction
In April 2008, I bicycled to the office for my first day back from maternity leave. A few months earlier, my husband had suggested I start bicycling with our daughter. My husband had been enjoying his daily bicycle commute to the office, and thought I could benefit as well. I bought a hybrid bicycle and a seat
