In life, we don't always make the best decisions. We fall flat on our faces. We get back up. We fall again. Some people around us try to make us feel bad for our decisions and choices. Yet, most of them have never walked a mile in our shoes. They didn't have to think and process things we did. We can take all the accountability in the world, yet those people will never be satisfied. I did the best I could with what I had. No, I didn't choose correctly. I did what I could with the situation at hand. What happened helped shape who I am now. It does not define me. Why? Because I'm still standing here.

I am a mother, Navy veteran, Doctorate student (Clinical Psychology), author, walking in ministry and evangelism, teacher of youth at church, lover of museums, aquariums, and zoos, and cooking connoisseur. I have an Associate's degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor's degree in psychology. I started writing poetry at six years old. I entered my first contest when I was eight years old, when we still had Poetry.com. I won my first contest at ten, which surprised me. I have loved literature, English, and reading. I also love other forms of writing and poetry, such as African-based writing, mythology, and haiku. There is an affinity to math, science, and history mixed in, so I'm a conglomerate of many when it comes to education. I enjoy watching Kdramas, natural disaster movies, romantic comedies, and anime. I'm into video games, cars, and motorcycles. I'm an omnivert, some days leaning more towards the extrovert side, other days more towards the introvert.

This is a unique book about Cherise. It is told in the first person as she retells her life story to the reader. She highlights her decisions and how they affected her and others around her. She finds herself in situations where critical choices are made for her, and she has to figure out if her decisions will make or break her. Despite the obstacles she faces in life, she keeps believing. Yet, she is caught up in bad choices and decisions. Can she be freed, or is she stuck for life?
