INTRODUCTION
The Ketogenic diet entails a healthy eating pattern that is low in carbohydrates, moderate in protein and high in fat. This eating lifestyle turns your body into a fat burning machine. The primary motive of embracing the ketogenic diet is to make the body enter the state of ketosis. This is when the body produces ketones that provide an alternative fuel supply from fats instead of carbohydrates. This can be achieved when foods low in carbohydrate are consumed.
One of the main reasons people fail to go fully ketogenic is the thought of missing baked goods, such as bread, rolls, crackers, bagels, buns etc. I am happy to announce to you that there many delicious baked goods that are made from low-carb ingredients which are fully keto-complaint.
In this cookbook you will find a lot of low carb keto recipes you can use to bake tasty and delicious baked goods without missing out on the traditional. Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 20 slices
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cup almond flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
6 large eggs (separated)
1 pinch salt
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/4 tsp cream of tartar (optional)
6 drops liquid stevia (optional)
DESCRIPTION
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter 8x4 loaf pan and set aside.
2. Whisk the egg whites and cream of tartar together until soft peaks are formed.
3.In a food processor, combine almond flour, backing powder,1/3 of the egg whites, egg yolks, salt and melted butter.(To reduce the mild egg taste, you can add 6 drops of liquid stevia to the batter). Mix until well incorporated. Your dough should be lumpy thick until the whites are added.
4. Add in the remaining 2/3 of the egg whites and process gently until well combined. Do not over mix.
5. Spoon the batter into the buttered pan then bake for 30 minutes.
6. To ensure the bread is cooked through, you can check with a toothpick.
A loaf makes 20 slices.
