Alice in Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll
Alice was enjoying a day in the meadow, when suddenly she saw an extraordinary creature.
It was a White Rabbit, running quickly by, with a large pocket watch! He kept muttering to himself, Oh dear, oh dear! I shall be too late!!
Wait for me!
shouted Alice, as she followed him.
But all of a sudden, she found herself falling down, down, down, into a huge Rabbit Hole! And that was the beginning of her fantastic adventure in Wonderland.
The young girl had quite an enchanting escapade in this Fantasy World. First she was prompted to eat some cakes, which made her very small. Then she met some more very unusual creatures, such as the Dodo Bird, a Mock Turtle, and a Caterpillar smoking a water pipe sitting upon a Mushroom. Afterwards she found herself in the midst of a very unusual Tea Party. It turned out to be an UnBirthday Party
, where she met a Mad Hatter, a March Hare, and a little DorMouse.
Alice had several other fantasy exploits in this amazing world, including being chased by the card soldiers of the Red Queen, who kept shouting Off with her head!
How frightened she was!
Finally, after escaping from them, she was very happy to find herself back home once again.
The Wizard of Oz
