Julia B. Colwell, Ph.D., is a traditionally trained clinical psychologist, having learned Freud's principles and psychodynamic theory while simultaneously being influenced by feminist theory and the gay rights movement in the '70s and '80s. After graduate school, she was introduced to body-centered theory and suddenly woke up in a whole different world, one where the question turned from "How do I assess what is wrong in people?" to "How can I support people to feel as good as possible?" Julie is the founder of the Evolutionary Power Institute, in Boulder, Colorado, where she sees clients, teaches workshops, runs intensive groups, and spreads the word, to as many people as she can, about what the embodiment of true power looks like.
