My name is Brenda Campbell, and I am proud to be from the Pee Dee. No doubt about it. My mother was pleasing to the eye. But her kind heart and beautiful smile won first place. She went above and beyond to show that kindness is not doing something for someone because they can't but because you can. Acts of kindness create an emotional warmth that releases the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin boosts the giver's health and happiness and slows the aging process. I am living proof. Today, at the ripe young age of seventy, I take no medicine. Kindness is medicine for my mind, body, and soul.
