Prevent, Delay, Reverse Alzheimer’s - Selva Sugunendran
INTRODUCTION
This book is presented to those that suspect or are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and to their families, to show that there is hope.
Under the right conditions, you can prevent, you can reverse, you can delay Alzheimer’s disease, and you can regain the memory and cognitive losses you’ve endured as a result.
Let’s look at those conditions:
If you have no signs or symptoms of Alzheimer: You can begin now and follow a path that can help you to prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
Patients with early signs of Alzheimer’s: You can start today to take measures to reverse your symptoms—and hence the disease—and you can restore your brain and its functions.
Patients diagnosed with moderate Alzheimer’s: Through hard work and dedication, you can delay and even reverse your mental and cognitive decline, and you can restore your memory.
It’s Understandable if You Are Scared…
But know that there is hope.
One problem people face when confronting this disease is that we lack access to much needed, easy-to-understand information. It’s also very difficult to find the latest research and information that can help patients to combat this enemy.
Contradicting research, studies and published articles make it seemingly impossible to know what to do once patients and their families are confronted with this disease.
Patients find it nearly impossible to find solutions to manage their illness, partly because most information out there is too technical; partly because a lot of information is biased to research involving animal testing and trying to find medication to help.
Also, partly or should I say mainly because of the overwhelming amount of health professionals who continue to preach the old belief that there is no solution.
We have discovered that there is indeed a solution. It’s a solution based on behavioural choices rather than chalking it up to genetics or age. It’s a solution that not only works to stop, delay or heal cognitive dysfunction but also improves the very quality of the lives of its patients. It’s a solution that offers hope where there was none.
Research proves that others have improved their cognitive status.
In this follow up to What You Need to Know About Dementia, I have explored ways to do this very thing. Impossible? Dr. Dale Bredesen, Dr. Dean Sherzai, Dr. Daniel Amen, Dr. Norman Droidge and many of their patients would beg to differ. Through treatment at their private clinics, many patients have delayed or even reversed their symptoms.
However, I do realise that the cost of treatment at these private clinics could prove beyond the means of the average person, and so in this new book, I will detail these treatment options in an easy to understand format and show how they can improve your life and eliminate the fear of this dreaded disease from your life.
Whether you are a patient, a caregiver, a friend or family member, Prevent, Delay, Reverse Alzheimer’s will teach you how you could use a 6-step protocol called S.E.L.V.A.S Protocol to Prevent, Delay and indeed Reverse Alzheimer’s in their early stages.
With this book, you can understand and deal with the disease, approaching it not with fear, but with confidence.

But in the new world of research, we have discovered that there is indeed a solution. It’s a solution based on behavioral choices rather than chalking it up to genetics or age. It’s a solution that not only works to stop, delay or heal cognitive dysfunction but also improves the very quality of the lives of its patients. It’s a solution that offers hope where there was none.
Research proves that others have improved their cognitive status
A 2014 clinical trial at Dale Bredesen’s Clinic included nine patients who saw improvement through their participation in the study using changed behavior.
Of the ten total patients ranging in age from 55-75 years, only one saw a decline and unfortunately, he started out with late Alzheimer’s.
It is also important to note that he was only 60 years old.
2.0 Why I’m writing this book
I have had two relatives and a number of friends and neighbors suffer from this disease. Equally important is that the close relatives of these patients found themselves suddenly and irreparably confronted with new and enormous responsibilities in addition to the ones that they already faced.
They had to change their entire lives to cope. They had to sacrifice their way of life. And I had to do something to try and help.
As the published author of the acclaimed, 284-page book on Dementia titled, What you need to know about Dementia, I knew that now was the time to address this need in our community for the sake of all who fear, nay dread, this monster.
So, I now present this book to you, the patient or the family member, with the hope that you can find the strength to better your situation.
3.0 What is Alzheimer’s?
Alzheimer’s Disease is a form of dementia, or as the Alzheimer’s Association terms it, the most common cause of dementia.
While this may seem a bit confusing, it may prove easiest to understand it this way:
Dementia is the umbrella phrase for the symptoms that accompany memory loss and other mental cognitive disorders. It is a syndrome, not a disease. A syndrome is a group of symptoms that don’t necessarily have a defined diagnosis. Patients can experience many symptoms of cognitive dysfunction but not have a disease that defines it.
Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that is diagnosed. This means that it progressively gets worse over time. It accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases. Alzheimer’s attacks the brain, one section at a time, destroying its functions. Patients experience dementia as a result of Alzheimer’s disease, and there is a definitive
