Intro
It is becoming more rare by the year for a child to grow up in a 2 parent home. In the United States, there is one divorce approximately every 36 seconds. That’s about 2,400 divorces per day. 16,800 divorces weekly. 876,000 every year. No family in our country is immune from the effects of divorce. Divorce separates children from their parents, parents from their family, and families from income. Sadly, few resources exist to help our nation’s families to recover from such a devastating event. The contents of this book have helped me to understand marriage properly as it is meant to be understood and cherished. My hope is to share what my parents and I learned as a result of divorce to better help many respond to the challenges that always accompany it. This book is not only for those who have seen their marriage end in divorce. It’s also for the children of divorced marriages, the friends of those who have been divorced, and for those who are afraid of getting married due to the risk of divorce.
Many millennials believe that the best way to prevent divorce is to simply move-in with their significant other and skip the whole marriage process. Sadly, this option prevents neither the emotional heartache or physical separation that comes from a painful separation. If living together prior to marriage does not prevent divorce, then it will not prevent a separation either. In marriage couples commit to love one another for as long as they both shall live in spite of the failings of their partner. But when a couple simply moves in together without a marital commitment, they will more than likely break-up when one finds the other to be less desirable when their personal failing presents itself.
Rest assured, there is immense hope for those who desire to be married, for those who are married, and for those
