Crazy Making: Why We Keep Doing What We Don't Want To Do
()
About this ebook
We all have these patterns in our lives that we just can't seem to shake. No matter how disciplined we are, how much willpower we drum up, or how many times we seek accountability, eventually we find ourselves sucked back into repeating the same patterns again. It's crazy-making!
Everyone's struggle is different. For you, it might look like criticizing, substance abuse, over-working, sexual sin, people-pleasing, or hundreds of others. Jesus has given all of us a way out of these crazy-making cycles, and it has nothing to do with white-knuckling our way to freedom. Join us in this four-week study as we explore where these patterns come from, why we keep repeating them, and how to stop the crazy and live in the freedom Jesus makes possible.

Getting Started
Welcome to Crazy-Making! We all have patterns of destructive behavior that we just can’t seem to stop doing. Here at Trueface, we call these crazy-making cycles.
We’re not calling you crazy, but these repeating behaviors can definitely make us feel that way! This study is designed to help you explore your own cycles regardless of what they look like and step into the freedom Jesus offers. When we courageously step into the light, we get to experience more of the joy, authenticity, and power that God has made us for.
You can find all the session videos and additional resources at trueface.org/crazymakingstudy. Simply sign up for a free account and choose the Crazy-Making course.
Crazy-Making is structured similarly to other Trueface studies, which means that within each meeting we go through three sections:
Connect: We spend time connecting with each other in order to grow in our relationships.
Learn: We use content to help us learn and grow.
Live: We discuss and apply what we learned to our here-and-now lives so that we can live out and experience these truths.
How to Lead: This study requires the leader to live courageously and be the first to practice vulnerability. Your group cannot travel where you aren’t willing to go, so continue to seek the Spirit and the wisdom of trusted others as you lead out in exploring your cycles. Additionally, we have provided recommended time frames to help you stay on track in your meetings. These time frames reference a sixty- or ninety-minute group meeting.
Today’s culture is perfecting the art and science of creating masks. Behind these masks, people are dying inside. We’re here to change that.
Trueface equips people to experience the freedom of living beyond the mask, because behind the mask is the real you. When we increase trust in our relationships, we are able to experience being more authentically known and loved by God and others.
We hope to be a bridge for hundreds of thousands to experience the peace and freedom of the original good news by trusting God and others with their whole selves … the self behind the
