How to Start a Jewelry Company - Valisha Gorman
Dear, Reader. My name is Valisha. I am the founder and CEO of Vjewelryy and NubianCreationsCo. I decided to start my own Jewelry Business in June 2020 in the middle of a pandemic. I wanted to do something I had a passion for which at the time was Jewelry. I had an Esty shop from 2018-2020 selling handmade pieces and beaded jewelry but wanted to expand and offer more variations of jewelry. I wanted to offer jewelry at an affordable price and without turning green or irritating skin. I built this business from the ground up; it was not easy, but it is doable and with the right tools, you can build your own business as well. This guide is full of tips and knowledge that you can apply to be successful in running your own business.
Good Luck!
The very first step in starting your own Jewelry Business is to think about your Vision and Mission Statement for your brand.
To help with this, think about brands you purchase from in your everyday life, then ask yourself why you chose that brand over others.
For example: Do you buy shoes from a certain company? Fly with a particular airline? Use a particular cosmetics brand? People buy from brands that they trust and have a good experience with. As a consumer thinks about what would make you want to shop with your brand over similar brands.
Mission and Vision Statement:
What is your company's mission?
What are the benefits and features of your products or services?
What qualities do you want them to associate with your company?
Things to ask yourself
What jewelry will you be selling?
What price?
High Value or Low Value?
What type of customers will you serve?
There are hundreds of jewelry stores popping up daily, so ask yourself, what will set your brand apart from other brands?
