I graduated in 1969 with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University. My employment has included OSU as well as Hewlett Packard. My main hobby and pastime is creative writing. As a creative writer, I like to look at the world of words and physics from new points of view, hoping to discover a pathway not yet taken. I have, for over 60 years, maintained that, once you figure out how the brain works, then you will have captured the essence of the entire universe. This reasoning is simple, considering that the brain is the pinnacle of nature's creations, thus it must be important enough to be worthy of examination.

The Physics of Time - Brad G. Berman
Prologue
Everything that is happening around you is a behavior that is continuously occurring in the invisible Space in which you are immersed. It includes all animal and vegetable morphologies and behaviors as well as those of galaxies, mountains and seas. It includes all Newtonic behaviors as well as all the laws of Science. We are the pixels of Time.
Time is an incoming flow of Parallel information; it is the waterfall of Gravity that is pushing us down upon the Material world. As Parallel Time encounters Atoms and molecules, it becomes the Serial Timelines of our surroundings, converting from Angular to Linear Momentum, Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy. As Parallel Time encounters the Brain, it results in strings of Serial Thoughts.
~An Ancient Time Paradigm~
Long ago, societies had concluded that the changes in the night sky were somehow causing corresponding changes to occur on the face of the Earth. Perhaps they imagined that Gravity
was actually an incoming river of change, which was pushing them down upon the Earth. They may have also concluded that this waterfall was descending upon Earth in three distinct phases, (Future => Present => Past), with the Future coming from out of the sky, which then passed through the Material world in the Present moment, subsequently terminating below the surface of the Earth in a place they named the underground
, where fossils had been found. This ancient logic would have been a very pragmatic explanation for the concept of Time, vestiges of which still exist to this day.
Pre-knowledge of the Future was essential to the survival of ancient societies, so in order to study Time, they felt compelled to build stone observatories, pyramids that would allow them to ascend as close as possible to the incoming current of Time, perhaps in order to see
Future moments before they would happen and to view the Past as it unfolded below them. It is even possible that they would roll rubber spheres down the monument’s long staircases in order to observe the incoming waterfall of Time. Then, as spheres collected at the bottom, they would have landed in specific places that would disclose the changing temperament of Time as well as possible Future events that were continuously descending from the sky.
They also must have realized that Time was passing through the Brain in a similar fashion, resulting in a waterfall of Thoughts, personalities and changes in attitude.
~Contemporary Paradigms of Time~
Our modern paradigm of Time is in the opposite sense, as it imagines the Material world as moving through Time like a rocket ship in this way: (Past => Present => Future). This modern Model
implies that we are leaving behind us a world named the Past, while we are surfing upon the front of a Material standing wave we have named the Present, a phase of Time that continuously imposes itself upon a Future that we seem to be able to affect, or a Future that automatically changes if we do nothing to change it.
There is also a (Future => Present => Past) theory in which Time enters into the Material world from out of the Future in the form of a Doppler shift, like a passing Train’s whistle. In this concept, the Future enters the Present at a higher pitch, which then becomes refracted and slowed due to the Inertia of Atoms, where/when it reveals its hidden contents in a brief Present moment, just as a prism slows and reveals the contents of white light. In this Model, Time continuously moves off into the Past leaving behind a sorrowful descending sound of Times gone by.
There are theories that claim that an enduring Present is all that really exists, that the Past and Future are ad hoc concepts that serve to explain Time, in spite of the fact that most all languages require many conjugations of verbs in order to deal with three phases of Time, whether imagined or real.
In modern physics, we utilize geometry and mathematics to create graphical displays to illustrate incoming Time, for example: a probability curve, the leading edge of a bell-shaped statistical curve, the Gravitational curve, a 1/T^2 acceleration/deceleration curve, the curvature of the leading edge of a wave, or the front face of a standing wave, etc. These geometries illustrate that incoming Time is not linear, as it appears to curve into our world in a non-linear, Angular fashion, then settle into the Present, having converted into a display of Linear events. Then it moves off into the Past, descending down a long exponential natural-log decay curve.
As it turns out, the basis of the oldest theory of Time, (Future => Present => Past), the pyramid version, is a better visual for understanding the flow of Time and its conversion from 2nd order Parallel Time to 1st order Serial Time. This Differentiation
of Time by the Material world, its conversion process, is the key to the physics of Time and will therefore be examined in closer detail.
From these ideas, it becomes clear that a new Time paradigm will first require a detailed look at our current concepts of Past, Present and Future. The following Logic Ladders will be the starting point of this adventure, the first step in updating the physics of Time.
~The Physics of the Past, Present and Future~
The Past:
* Waves on the surface of the ocean are the result of events that have already taken place.
* Gravitational waves in Space are remnants of events that have already taken place.
* Photons are wave remnants of events that have already taken place, therefore,
* Since Photons travel at the fastest possible speed in the Universe,
* The speed of light must in fact be the speed of Time.
* If everything we can see and possibly know about has already taken place, then
* Incoming Time must be the sum of the entire Past everywhere else in the Universe.
* If the passage of Time at each Atom is the incoming sum of the entire Past, then
* By definition, Atoms and molecules must be the faces of the Present.
The Present:
* Molecules are Atomic constructions, the result of Electron Valence connections.
* Valence connections are rapid exchanges of Momentum, therefore,
* The Present is changing so fast, it continuously persists for fewer than picoseconds.
* If the Present is a dynamic standing wave
that is surrounded by the entire Past, then,
* The Present must be the sum (Σ) of the entire Past, which means that,
* The entire Past must be the information database for the Present.
The Future:
* If the Future is comprised of the incoming Momentum vestiges of the entire Past, then,
* The Future and Past must be the same thing, therefore,
* The Future
must be a mental construct designed to explain the impending Present,
* Therefore Future
is a redundant concept and should be phased out in favor of:
* (ΣPast => Present).
Space:
* If Atoms are the pixels of the Present that are displaying the Serial current of Time, and
* Every Atom is surrounded by the Space of the Past, then,
* Space must somehow contain all possible "Parallel Universes", all possible Presents.
* This would mean that Space is the source of Serial Time, therefore,
* Time must be comprised of two aspects: Parallel and Serial Time.
* Therefore, Serial Time must be unfolding from out of Parallel Time, thus,
* (Space => Material world), (Parallel Time => Serial Time), (ΣPast => Present).
Parallel Time:
* Parallel Time contains all the blueprints for all possible nascent Present moments.
* If Space is an invisible structure comprised of all possible Parallel Universes
, then
* Our surroundings are the Serial readouts of Parallel Time.
* If Parallel Time is a Universal Electron Band valence control structure, then
* Parallel Time must be communicating with our Brain as well as Atoms, thus,
* Parallel Time is a Universal Space structure, the source of Time and Thought.
Serial Time:
* Feynman diagrams illustrate that Serial Time is a process of exchanges of Momentum.
* If Momentum is causing the forward motion of Time, then
* Serial Time must only be passing where there are Atoms.
* Both Angular and Linear Momentum are the Newtonic hands of Time, while
* Fields are the conduits of this Momentum, the currents of the passage of Time, thus,
* Gravity must be a waterfall of Momentum
containing the incoming Present, and
* Gravity must be the interface where/when Time converts from Parallel to Serial.
Thoughts:
* Our Thoughts are Time-like
Serial sequences, clips of Serial Time, thus,
* The ionic chemistry of the Brain is converting Parallel Time into Serial Thoughts.
* Therefore, Thoughts must be Parallel Time, superposing with the neurons of the Brain.
* If Thoughts and the objects of our surroundings are Parallel Time structures, then,
* (Parallel Time => Serial Time), (ΣPast => Present), (Parallel Time => Thoughts).
Conclusion: Space is the sum of all of Time as well as the source of our Thoughts.
The most important aspect of Time is how it is interacting with the structure of our Brain, resulting in a plethora of Thoughts. Since Thoughts are an aspect of the Time process, a new physics of Time must first explain how the physics of the Parallel/serial/parallel structure of the Brain is decoding the passage of Time. This is the prime reason for investigating the physics of Time, the subject of the final chapter.

The Mathematics of Time
Have you ever wondered why mathematics is able to Model real-life Material world events? After all, it is mathematics and a lot of hard work that got us to the Moon. Perhaps it is because the Parallel Time structure has evolved over billions of years, becoming a switching network of logic and mathematical relationships, and just like the architecture of the Brain, it allows us to characterize our surroundings by utilizing complex formulas.
Several hundred years ago, Leibniz and Newton devised a mathematical method of manipulating numbers and functions that characterize the qualities of as well as the interface between dimensions, which they named Differential and Integral Calculus.
According to the principles of Calculus and set theory, a primary dimension contains all permutations and combinations of all the dimensions that lie below, thus, the 4th dimension of Time contains all possible permutations and combinations of the 3 dimensions of Space that lie below, just as a 2-dimensional area contains all the unique 1-dimensional lines and 0-dimensional points inside that area.
Calculus also allows us to study the relationships between dimensions, thus, it is a great tool for characterizing 4-D Time by examining the 3-D Material world. However, since curvature is the geometry of the Universe, in order to have a better understanding of our world, one must begin to think of Dimensions as consisting of arcs, Sine waves, circles of area and spheres of volume, instead of squares and straight lines.
~Examples of inter-dimensional Calculus~
By Differentiating the formula for the area of a circle, the result acquired is the circumference that encompasses that circle, one dimension lower. This is also true of the 3-dimensional volume inside a balloon, that when Differentiated reveals a number that is the surface area of the outside of that balloon, an area one dimension lower. Conversely, if one Integrates the formula for the circumference of a circle or the surface area of the outside of a balloon, the result is a formula that reveals the area of the circle or the volume inside that balloon, but one dimension higher.
There is another very interesting Calculus that exists between the dimensions of Momentum and Energy: Integrate (add up) all the Momentum impulses that strike an object along the same vector line, in order to reveal its total Energy content or conversely, Differentiate an Energy source in order to extract Momentum vectors, just as Atoms are Differentiating the Angular Momentum comprising Time in order to keep themselves spinning. This Differentiation and Integration mechanism is one method by which Time is distributing Momentum up and down the Universal Spectrum of Size.
~Dimensions, Units and Constants~
Dimensions are fundamental properties: Time, Length, Mass, Energy, Electric charge, Angular Momentum (AM) and Linear Momentum (LM) to name a few. Most Dimensions are Conserved, which means that they can neither be created nor destroyed, as they comprise the basic eternal components of the Universe.
Units are arbitrary scale divisions that we overlay upon Dimensions, like seconds, hours, the tick marks on a ruler, the length of the King’s foot, arm, or width of his thumb (a foot, a meter, an inch), or even the largest scale describing the vastness of the Universe, a light year. Units are the practical divisions of a range that allow us to mathematically manipulate our world, like the hours in a day or the Centigrade or Fahrenheit Units of a thermometer.
Constants are a dimensional interface, like the number Pi (π), the interface that connects the first dimension of length to the second dimension of area that defines a circle. But the most important Universal constant is the speed of Time, c, the maximum speed that Time is able to transport the massless Momentum of Photons through the Electromagnetic density of Space.
We can compare dimensions by creating equations containing a constant of proportionality
like Planck’s constant, h, the Gravitational constant, G, or the speed of Time, c, comparisons that reveal the nature of the Time interface that connects the Time dimension to the Material world of Atoms. A few examples are: E = mc^2, E = hF, F = mG, circumference = 2πr, area = (π r^2).
So in order to understand a physics equation and how two or more concepts are related, one must first examine the dimensions on both sides of that equation. For example, equations related to force, acceleration and Kinetic Energy have Time in their denominator in the 2nd order, (1/T^2), a position where small modulations of Time can exert a great deal of leverage. It also explains why we feel a Force when we accelerate, because we are compressing
Time in the direction we accelerate, causing our Time clock to minutely slow down
to the point that if we could move at the speed of Time like a Photon, our clock would stop and we would become Timeless and ageless. This Time compression feature is a proven fact. It also hints at the possibility that Space is itself Timeless and that Time only flows where there are Atoms.
~Differential and Integral Calculus model the nature of Time~
Differentiation, as its name implies, is the act of taking note of the Differences between measurements over Time, for example, Differences in velocity as seen on a speedometer. If a second observation of a speedometer indicates a velocity that is faster or slower than the first observation, then this change indicates acceleration or deceleration, and you can feel the resulting force. This is the principle of Conservation of Momentum, it is Time (in the denominator) acting as an Inertial guidance system.
Differentiation of a math function also results in a new function that is one dimension lower and is more specific, revealing things like the location and the direction that a process is heading. For example, Differentiation of Time by the presence and the dynamics of Atoms results in Forces, a reaction of Time where there is a change.
Acceleration and deceleration are Time’s reactions to a change in Momentum or conversely, a change in Momentum results in a force such as Gravity, the deceleration of Time into the Material world. If there is a change in compass direction that is due to driving an auto around a curve in the road, it results in a temporary, equal and opposite corrective Gravitational field, an Inertial guidance process that pushes one against the door of the Automobile.
A Differentiating mechanism can change the direction of a process, just as Atoms redirect the omni-directional flow of Time, resulting in a Gravitational curve that a falling object must follow. The Serial passage of Time is literally the Differentiation of Time by the Atoms of the Material world, and for the same reason, the Differentiation of Parallel Time by the Brain's neuron Timing structures results in Thoughts.
Thus, the Serial events taking place in the Material world are literally the same kinds of events that underlie the lines of Thought that pass through our Brain, while our Thoughts are analogous to the individual colors that are exposed when white light is Differentiated by a Prism or diffraction grating.
~Integration is the opposite of Differentiation~
Integration is simply the recording of all the measurements taken over the history of a process, resulting in a profile, like a bell-shaped curve, a Sine wave or a ^standing wave^, thereby characterizing a process in one glance, in one continuous curve. From both Differentiation and Integration, one can characterize
