It was hard for me to pick up that pen again,
Strangely enough, it was because of Ben.
~
After the death of a friend,
Who had been with me through thick and thin,
We shared laughter, tears, and everything within.
~
I didn't see it happening, I didn't know when,
It was as if I had emerged from a lion's den.
~
Three years of pain,
Three years of learning,
Three years of understanding oneself,
It felt like a constant yearning.
~
Three years to comprehend my emotions,
Searching for answers in the vast oceans.
~
It took me three years, and now I'm emerging,
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, my soul urging.
~
Picking up that pen again felt so guilty,
As if my heart was burdened with shame, it almost killed me.
~
But I knew I had to stop the self-pity,
For it was keeping me locked in a state of misery,
I have to remember that even though you're not here,
You will always be with me.
~
As I dipped the pen in ink hesitatingly,
A flood of memories rushed over me.
Words started flowing, forming lines of poetry,
Expressing the depth of my emotions, setting my soul free.
~
Each word felt like a release,
A healing balm for my wounded soul,
A way to make sense of the pain that took its toll.
With every stroke, the pen became my voice,
A conduit for the emotions that were once my choice.
~
The pages filled with verses,
Capturing the essence of a love that never disperses.
~
Each line resonated with the memories we shared,
The moments that proved how much we truly cared.
~
As I penned down the final verse,
A tear escaped, my heart feeling both heavy and rehearsed. The last word left me hanging, my thoughts suspended,
The story unfinished, and the pain yet not mended.
~
For now, our story remains untold,
Leaving room for imagination to unfold,
A tale that will forever be cherished and never grow old.

Welcome dear reader, to a journey stark,
through a world where longing leaves its mark.
~
Once a vibrant soul, radiant with life's gleam,
Now carries a void, deep and extreme.
A friend, a confidante, both riveting and kind,
Yet she was snatched away, leaving me behind.
~
Her departure, a dagger, piercing through my core,
Each day without her, harder than the one before.
I tread around the globe, my heart in a dreadful reel,
Seeking solace, a remedy that could help me heal.
~
Gone were the days of shared laughter and cheer,
Now replaced with solitude, and echoes of yesteryear.
Ghostly whispers of our past, in every corner they peal,
Reminding me of a wound that time refused to seal.
~
Yet, in the realm of dreams, she comes alive,
Her gaze so profound, it seems to dive,
Right into my soul, stirring memories afresh,
Of a time when we were queens, our spirits meshed.
~
From the silly fights to secret schemes,
Our shared dreams, now lost in time's streams.
Her loss felt like a cruel play of fate's scene,
Could it have been avoided with a simple vaccine?
~
Yet, I try to find solace in this relentless strife,
That death is but a part of everyone's life.
It might have taken her, but could not her essence seize,
Her spirit lingers, a soothing, gentle breeze.
~
So, I stride forth, with a promise made to keep,
In this world, or the next, our reunion will be steep.
At the heavenly gates, with curry goat, rice and peas,
We'll share a meal, as our hearts find their ease.
~
As my tale finds its pause here, in this earthly domain,
A sense of peace, amid the lingering pain.
~
Life and death, paths that intertwined,
Left behind a story, of friendships, love and family undefined.
~
As you close this chapter, you might wonder still,
Was it real? Or a figment of skilled quill?
Truth or fiction, only time can reveal,
Until then, let your imagination take the wheel.

Life wasn't a tutorial, but a journey to be splendid.
You live, you breathe, then one day you're expended.
They weep, they mourn, to your memorial they attended.
~
Life's not a document where you can etch an edit,
Or a column to revise, or an editorial for credit.
So, I chose to steer my existence, with a spirit entrepreneurial,
Living out my days, making every breath special.
~
When birth ushers you into this grand, cryptic globe,
There's no guidebook, no compass, nor a philosopher's robe.
We strive, we fight, our bodies often bearing the load,
Wound by the whip of time, down an uncertain road.
~
Many gaze upon us, indifferent to our existence.
They care not whether we persist or leave without resistance.
That’s when a higher faith steps in, offering assistance,
In God, we trust, drawing strength from His persistence.
~
Life isn't a tutorial, but it’s a journey to be learned,
A journey filled with mistakes from which wisdom must be earned.
Chasing the sun's golden trails, the midnight oil is burned,
The pages of our life’s book cannot be unturned.
~
We lay our hopes on destiny, on a path divinely lit,
In the face of adversity, never choosing to quit.
With entrepreneurial grace, we make every second count,
In God, we trust, His blessings to surmount.
~
Life is not a tutorial, but a riddle of time,
A dance with destiny, a journey so sublime.

I found myself lost,
The weight of guilt consuming me, at any cost.
The world seemed bleak, my heart heavy with pain,
Learning how to smile again seemed an impossible gain.
~
A traumatic experience had shattered my soul,
Leaving me broken, crawling towards a new goal.
Each step outside, a challenge to face,
Counting to ten, preparing for the embrace.
~
Days turned to nights, sleep became my solace,
Blinds shut; silence echoed in every crevice.
The world carried on, oblivious to my strife,
Cheap meals consumed, barely sustaining life.
~
They say you reap what you sow,
but the seeds I had sown, led to a tragedy I couldn't atone.
If only I could turn back the hands of time,
To relive the moments, rewrite the rhyme.
~
Yet, in this dark abyss, forgiveness emerged,
A flicker of hope, where sadness had surged.
For in forgiving myself, I found strength anew,
A journey of healing, a path to pursue.
~
Each day a step forward, no longer held back,
In the face of adversity, no longer off track.
Learning to smile again, a slow but sure climb,
Leaving behind the guilt, embracing life's chime.
~
Still living but questions remain,
What awaits beyond, what will life contain?
The hardest part may be over, but the journey's not done,
Leaving me wondering, what's next to be spun.

Strangely enough, throughout my life,
Death was always close,
But it didn't really happen to people I loved the most.

As little as I was, I
