My recent 46-day cruise trip to Africa proved to be a highly rewarding experience. Drawing inspiration from his insightful lecture materials and his books on Quantum Mechanics, notably ‘Life, the Universe, and Everything’ and ‘Quantum God, Fractal Jesus,’ I was motivated to add another chapter titled ‘Quantum Uncertainties’ to my manuscript. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Fletcher, who graciously agreed to review my manuscript prior to its publication. This act of generosity is truly appreciated, and I extend my sincere thanks for his support and encouragement.

Reflecting on the culmination of this project, I acknowledge that this may be my final literary endeavor. About the Author

Dr. Alex Tang is a scholar with a wealth of experience in the finance sector spanning over three decades. Holding degrees in B.Sc, M.Phil, and DBA, he has made significant contributions as the head of research almost throughout his career. Beginning in 1980, he worked for several large companies such as China Light & Power, the HK Productivity Center, Levesque Securities, Dao Heng Securities, Yamaichi Securities, and the Core Pacific-Yamaichi International. Notably, he is credited with coining the terms ‘Red Chips’ and ‘Red Chip Index’ in 1992.

Transitioning from his finance career, Dr. Tang embraced a new chapter by dedicating a decade to sharing his wealth of knowledge as a part-time lecturer at HK Baptist University. His specialized focus on technical analysis has proven invaluable for students navigating the intricacies of this field.

Among Dr. Tang’s recent accomplishments is the publication of Essentials of Technical Analysis, a comprehensive undergraduate-level textbook, underscoring his commitment to education.

Currently residing in Vancouver, Canada, alongside his wife, Dr. Tang remains active in the community, notably at the Pacific Grace MB Church, conveniently located on 1st Avenue East.

Dr. Tang’s family is equally accomplished. His son holds a prestigious position as a professor of English in the United States, reflecting the family’s strong academic lineage. Meanwhile, his daughter excels in the tech industry, further enhancing the family’s diverse and impressive achievements.

This book, Back to the Universe-Centered, was first published in April 2024. Since then, the world has continued to change drastically, particularly in climate, politics, and economic stability. With ongoing uncertainties surrounding tariff threats, the rapid deployment of artificial intelligence, and widespread budget cuts, large-scale layoffs seem inevitable. Many enterprises are delaying investments both domestically and internationally, further hindering global economic growth. Rising unemployment and a lack of capital investment will weaken consumer confidence and spending. Let us hope and pray that we do not experience a prolonged downturn in the global economy.

This revised edition includes a newly added chapter, Navigating Truth in the Age of Disinformation, strategically placed just before Depicting the End Days. The world today is inundated with misinformation, fake news, and intentional disinformation, making the pursuit of truth more challenging than ever. As believers, we are called to uphold and share the truth, even in the face of overwhelming deception. Navigating these complexities requires a balanced integration of faith, science, and ethical reasoning. In the digital age, wisdom and discernment are not luxuries but essential virtues. To stand firm in truth, we must shift our perspective back to a universe-centered reality—one grounded in God’s truth rather than the illusions of human perception.

Early last year, I deliberated between two titles: Back to the Universe-Centered and Gone with the Human-Centered. The former suggests that the universe continues to exist regardless of humanity, while the latter implies that everything vanishes if humans cease to be. It is important to recognize that the idea of the universe disappearing without human perception is more philosophical than scientific. However, as we explore the narrative of Revelation, particularly chapters 21 and 22, we encounter a vision of a renewed creation where God dwells with humanity forever. This marks the grand fulfillment of the cosmic story. Back to the Universe-Centered reflects the transient nature of our current reality, acknowledging the continuity of existence beyond a human-centered view.

As Revelation reaches its dramatic peak, we witness the culmination of the most extraordinary story ever told. An angel reveals to John a breathtaking bride, symbolizing the new creation—the union of God and His covenant people. God’s declaration that He will dwell with humanity eternally and make all things new signifies the ultimate resolution of this cosmic journey. Thus, Back to the Universe-Centered serves only as a temporary concept; in the end, a new heaven and earth will emerge. This realization ultimately confirmed my choice of title.

Returning to the core themes of this book—our pressing global issues and the nature of our existence—we find ourselves at yet another critical juncture. As the shadow of COVID-19 begins to recede, we face new challenges, echoing the words of Revelation 9:12: The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come.

The second woe manifests in relentless natural disasters and human-made crises, an ever-present specter casting a perpetual shadow over humanity. A chilling report by the National Post exposes a different menace—daily cyberattacks on Canada orchestrated by state-sponsored hackers. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) has sounded the alarm, revealing an alarming surge in these digital assaults.

In this age of dualities, where technology is both an ally and an adversary, our reality takes on an increasingly ominous tone. Cyberattacks are boundless and unrelenting, threatening not only physical infrastructure but also the very fabric of society. Attacks on databases and power grids jeopardize essential systems, while the looming specter of nuclear retaliation remains a haunting reality.

As digital threats escalate, our world teeters on the edge of an unprecedented crisis. Vehicles stall, charging stations remain dormant, and financial instability tightens its grip on national economies. In this interconnected world, no nation is immune to the crisis. Ominous clouds gather, heralding the potential for an all-encompassing digital Armageddon.

Now, humanity stands at a crossroads, facing a monumental choice: to confront the perils of technology or to succumb to them. Armageddon in the Cloud is not a mere work of fiction—it is an impending reality. Our survival depends on mastering the very technology that has pushed us to the brink.

With this looming threat in mind, this book embarks on a journey to explore the causes, consequences, and necessary preparations for what lies ahead. As believers, we turn to divine guidance, seeking the grace and mercy of our Lord, even in times when during those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them (Revelation 9:6).

Introduction

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

This verse from Romans lays the groundwork for our exploration, suggesting that the natural world offers insights into God’s attributes, setting the stage for our discussion on how faith intersects with contemporary issues.

As Christians, it is both our responsibility and duty to express our faith and values in the diverse world we inhabit. Regrettably, we often shy away from addressing controversial topics such as Artificial Intelligence, gene-editing, evolution, and prehistoric discoveries. Yet, engaging in open dialogues on these matters is not just important but essential for understanding God’s creation and expressing our faith in a diverse world. These conversations help us comprehend our faith more deeply and enable us to share it effectively with others. To navigate the complexities of our time, we must wholeheartedly embrace diverse perspectives and strive for comprehensive understanding.

To further underscore the importance of considering diverse perspectives, the ‘parable of the blind men and the elephant’ serves as a poignant reminder that every person possesses a unique viewpoint, and no single perspective can be considered entirely correct. To truly grasp a situation or problem, we must consider multiple perspectives. As Christians, when confronted with challenges, we should make it our mission to delve into various subjects such as Earth sciences, celestial phenomena, archaeological discoveries, evolutionary theory, gene-editing, humanoid robotics, and artificial intelligence. Demonstrating our understanding of scientific advancements can highlight how Holy Scriptures complement progress rather than oppose it, equipping us to defend our beliefs effectively.

Artificial Intelligence is an integral part of the broader narrative of transhumanism, which has its roots in science fiction, philosophy, and the human potential movement. Transhumanism explores the convergence of AI, biotechnology, nanotechnology, and neuroscience, potentially reshaping our understanding of human potential. The breakneck pace of technological advancement suggests that these innovations could redefine what it means to be human.

The emergence of self-aware AIs and other technological advancements mark significant milestones in our understanding of God’s creation and our responsibility to steward it. The merging of AI with biotechnology, nanotechnology, and neuroscience blurs the boundaries of human potential, giving rise to a host of ethical, social, and political questions.

Hence, the establishment of ethical and safety guidelines for AI development becomes crucial. As Christians, it is imperative that we grapple with questions related to AI development, ensuring that technological progress aligns with our values and beliefs, thus expressing our faith in a changing world. Failing to do so could have dire consequences.

In particular, the specter of cyber warfare looms large, posing a grave threat to society that extends beyond physical damage. Attacks on critical infrastructure can result in the erasure of vital information, leading to chaos. The looming threat of cyber warfare underscores our responsibility to steward the world and protect its inhabitants from harm. As digital threats encroach upon our world, its rapid deterioration affects every facet of our interconnected existence. We must confront the potential malevolence of technology or risk succumbing to its grip. ‘The Armageddon in the Cloud’ is not mere fiction; it serves as a stark reminder of our precarious equilibrium. Our survival hinges on our ability to master technology for the greater good.

Beyond the risks posed by technological advancements, we also face an escalating crisis of disinformation. In an age where falsehoods spread faster than truth, misinformation has the power to distort reality, manipulate perceptions, and erode trust in institutions, including the Church. As technology amplifies the reach and sophistication of deception, the ability to discern truth from falsehood becomes increasingly vital. For this reason, I have added a new chapter, Navigating Truth in the Age of Disinformation, to explore how Christians can remain steadfast in truth amid a world clouded by deception. This chapter examines the mechanisms of misinformation, the ethical responsibilities of digital communication, and the role of faith in seeking wisdom and discernment. It is my hope that by addressing this urgent issue, we can equip ourselves to uphold integrity, defend truth, and foster meaningful discourse in an era where deception threatens to overshadow reality.

While the book provides valuable cybersecurity tips, we mustn’t solely rely on self-help; we must also seek divine guidance and have faith. The author’s aim is to awaken believers to the necessity of seeking God’s guidance. In the concluding chapter, a path forward for Christians is presented. Let us fervently pray for the Lord’s continued guidance, mercy, and grace. Embracing these challenges through the lens of our faith is not merely a choice but a divine calling.

Through a series of thought-provoking chapters, this book takes readers on a profound journey of discovery, contemplation, and revelation.
