Once, a scorpion asked a frog for help crossing the river.
- What guarantees that you won't sting me? - asked the frog, hesitantly.
- If I do, we'll both drown," replied the scorpion.
Convinced by logic, the frog agreed. But in the middle of the journey, he felt the fatal sting.
- Why, scorpion? Now we'll die!
- I can't help it," replied the scorpion, as they sank. - It's in my nature.

PREFACE
Walking in Cycles: Overcoming an Abusive Relationship was born out of a deeply personal experience. During a difficult time in my life, I created a private group called Reflections,
where I wrote daily while facing the ups and downs of an abusive relationship. Writing was my way of breathing, of finding meaning in the chaos and of planting the seeds of a freer future.
My motivation for this project came from a genuine desire to illuminate the nuances of emotional abuse - those invisible chains that often bind but are difficult to explain. By exploring themes such as gaslighting, hoovering and narcissism, I hope not only to raise awareness, but also to offer welcome to those seeking to break free from these cycles.
Eva, the protagonist, is a mirror of everyone who has ever felt trapped in cycles of manipulation, doubt and difficult new beginnings. This book is based on a true story - mine - but has been adapted to carry a wider meaning, allowing other people to identify and find comfort. It is a work that mixes facts and emotions with fictional nuances, but which remains deeply rooted in the truth of so many women's experiences.
If you've ever wondered if you were the problem
or doubted your intuition because of manipulative words, know that you're not alone. This book is for you. It's for everyone who carries invisible marks, who seeks to be reborn and who believes, even
