About this ebook

Keep an Eye on Your Guest is a book inspired by the story of a powerful and famous king who once lived in this world. The lessons from the consequences he had to suffer for his ignorance about his quest and his inability to keep that guest under control during a visit is what this book talks about.

It is obvious that the guest referenced in this book from the king's life story is a guest that you and I encounter almost every day of our lives.

There is a great good that would be done unto one's self by reading this book. This book is recommended for everyone but more highly for teenagers and young adults because they are more likely to be caught off guard by this guest.

Have a great reading journey through this book.

    Chapter 1

    The Introduction

I believe that the title of this book fascinates you. You may be wondering what this yellow and black cover book contains. Well, it contains a masterpiece that I believe has been hidden for centuries. But glory be to God that His Holy Spirit by virtue of His grace has given me this revelation and has enabled me to author this book, which is pregnant with the revelations in one of the usual scriptural passages in the Bible for most, especially readers.

Kindly follow me closely as we take this short and exciting walk through the revelations in our foundational scripture.

So the Lord sent Nathan to David. Nathan approached David and said, There are two men in the city. One is rich and one is poor. The rich man has many flocks and herds, but the poor man had nothing except for one little ewe lamb that he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It used to share his food and drink from his own cup. It even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. A traveller arrived to visit the rich man. Because he was unwilling to take an animal from one of his own flocks or herds to prepare for the [guest] who had come to visit him, he took the poor man's lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to visit him. David flew into a rage at the man and told Nathan, As the Lord lives, the man who did this deserves to die! But Nathan replied to David, You are the man! (2 Samuel 12:1–7)

Verse 4 of the passage above mentions a guest who all of us at certain times in our lives may receive or host; he is your guest, my guest, and our guest. First and foremost, who is a guest? According to the Cambridge dictionary, a guest is a person who is staying with you or a person you have invited to a social occasion, such as a party or a meal.

But for the purpose of this book, I define a guest as someone or something that keeps his/her or its presence with you, invited or uninvited. I believe you would agree with me on this definition of who a guest is. As we are reading this book, we are seeking to find out who that guest of King David was and how the guest was able to manipulate the king to do the unauthorized.

    Chapter 2

    The Guest

I mentioned in the last paragraph of chapter one that this guest we are seeking to unveil is one that we all at one point or the other, meet or encounter.

From our foundational scripture, we see Prophet Nathan, in a parable, speak to David, King of Israel, and telling him that his guest had lured him to trespass. Now it is obvious King David did not understand the parable of Prophet Nathan as referring to him, and we can tell from how he responded to the story. It is also clear from the scriptural passage that David was not even aware that he was keeping the company of an unknown guest, just as many of us do. We always keep company with this guest, consciously or unconsciously.

We must understand that we cannot escape the visitation of
