Rapid Gut Repair Protocols Using Foods

    By Christopher Lively

Purpose - to Provide Plans, Perspective, Knowledge and Understanding to Promote New Gut Health Boosting Habits for Greater Average of Gut Health

The path often traveled, from mouth to anus... this path is called your gut.  Your gut is made up of living cells. Your gut is not made out of plastic or some mystery magical stuff.  From mouth to anus, we must tend to the health of all of these living parts within us.

We need to help prevent and remove bad stuff.  We need to take in, habitually, good stuff.

And just this tweak in the ratio of bad stuff to good stuff can make a large difference for the average health of your gut.  And in this book we are going to focus on boosting the health of your gut with food.

    What is Your Gut?

The gut, also known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, is comprised of several connected parts that work together to digest food and absorb nutrients. The main parts of the gut include:

    1.  Mouth – where digestion begins with chewing and saliva production.

    2.  Pharynx – the passageway for food from the mouth to the esophagus.

    3.  Esophagus – a muscular tube that transports food from the throat to the stomach.

    4.  Stomach – a sac-like organ where food is mixed with gastric juices for initial digestion.

    5.  Small Intestine – consists of three parts:

    ○  Duodenum

    ○  Jejunum

    ○  Ileum This is where most nutrient absorption occurs.

    6.  Large Intestine (Colon) – absorbs water and electrolytes, forming stool. It includes:

    ○  Cecum

    ○  Ascending colon

    ○  Transverse colon

    ○  Descending colon

    ○  Sigmoid colon

    7.  Rectum – the final section of the large intestine, storing feces.

    8.  Anus – the opening through which feces are expelled.

Additional accessory organs that assist digestion but are not part of the gut itself include the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
