Appreciate the love from Spotify and the shoutout to Cosmopolitan in this full-circle Doechii moment. Always exciting to see our brands show up in cultural conversations! Congrats to the Cosmo team on the latest cover that’s making waves today!
Back in early December Doechii was seeing a massive surge on Spotify due to her now legendary Tiny Desk appearance and Colbert performance. We wanted to break the data somewhere consumer facing where new fans would care to see how much their loyalty was paying off. Samantha Olson exclusively broke the story with Cosmopolitan heading into Grammy szn. It was one of my favorite stories from last year because any time we can provide data to showcase the true cultural takeover an artist is having it adds fuel to the fire. That said, I loved waking up to see Doechii on the cover of Cosmo’s new issue today because her star continues to rise to new heights. But I also loved seeing that December article used as a success proof point in the cover story. Spotify reflects artists and fan behaviors. When fans are connecting the proof is in the numbers and I’m glad this story continues to find new life. It’s what you hope for with a data break; for it to be referenced time and time again.
