Burn-down charts

- One of the most effective methods for a development team to display their progress within a sprint is through the use of a Sprint Burndown Chart. To all the teams I coach, I recommend having the Sprint Burndown Chart updated and available at the beginning of each daily Scrum. This chart is a very powerful visual that can help your development team see how they're progressing toward their sprint goal. Not only is it very visual, it's very factual, and helps provide insight on the actual health of the sprint. On the x-axis, or horizontal line, of this chart, are the number of days in the sprint. You want to watch your Sprint Burndown Chart every day to ensure transparency into the team's effort. On the y-axis, or vertical line, of the chart, are the number of points remaining to be completed in the sprint based on what PBIs were selected.
