Cross Join
Let's talk about a commonly needed join, but it is not one of the six in Power Query's interface. This is the cross-join. A cross-join allows us to match everything with everything. In this situation, we have five conference rooms and then we have six details. We would like one solid list that we can sort and filter and make assignments to, but we need Bamboo, A/V equipment. Has that been handled? Has it been cleaned or the decorations set up? How is the seating? Are the supplies there? Is the Wi-Fi working? Cedar room same thing. Mahogany room, Mango, Poplar, everything with everything. Let's do it. Now, I'm going to go to Data, Queries and Connections. You'll see that I have a rooms query and I have a detailed query which is loaded as connection only. with the queries, now I can do the cross-join.
