Send a chat message to yourself
In Microsoft Teams, you can send a chat message to yourself. This may not sound useful at first, but it can be very valuable. In the chat section, click the compose button to start a new chat conversation. In the recipient field, type in your own name to search for yourself in the company directory and select yourself as the recipient. Then type your message. When you send the message, you will see it in the Recents list with you next to the recipient name. Why would you want to send a chat message to yourself? You could use this as a place for quick notes or reminders to yourself, you could also use this to test features without the risk of sending a test message to a co-worker. You could use a test message to see how text formatting works or try out the file-sharing tools. And when you learn other chat features later, you can test them by sending a message to yourself.
