(gentle music) - Welcome to this module on OCI storage services, what they are and how they work. Before we go and dive deeper into the various storage services available within OCI, let us look at storage requirements because they are many and varied. So first is when you decide on what kind of storage to use, you want to answer whether you want persistent storage or non-persistent storage. Then you have to answer what kind of data are you storing? Is it database files? Is it videos? Is it audios, photos, text? What kind of performance do you need? What kind of capacity do you need? How many input out output per second, IOPS? How much is the throughput? Then you need to decide on durability how many copies of data you want to maintain.
