One of the strongest messages from the Deep Learning Indaba 2025 workshop on AI for Business & Finance in Africa which I had the privilege to attend virtually through Gatherly was this: Africa has a once-in-a-generation chance to build a fully digital society, free from the legacy systems that constrain others. Mobile money proved this leapfrogging power. Yet, AI carries a double edge it can deepen inequality or drive inclusion, depending on how we design, regulate, and deploy it. That responsibility sits with businesses, governments, and communities alike. The challenge is data, talent, and trust. The opportunity is uniquely African solutions from financial inclusion to local-language AI. Hand in hand for AI in Africa (Urunana) isn’t just a theme, it’s the path forward.  Kelian Massa, Dario Fanucchi, Babacar S., Ndivhuwo MAKONDO #DeepLearningIndaba #DLI2025 #AIinAfrica #MachineLearning #Kigali #Urunana
