Ever heard of the Klarna Effect?
Klarna's AI assistant replaced 700 people and runs 24/7 support. That's where we're headed.
It seems like nuking your employees on a gamble should lead to ELT and management removal--the dumping and reacquisition of talent squanders margins. It's a bet they should have researched. I suppose the bigger the grift, the easier it is to believe it.
This study of 25.000 Danish employees found no productivity or wage gain when using AI. The Klarna Effect was a misguided attempt to get ready for a (still pending) IPO. And let’s not forget that back in January the CEO was ‘worried that AI would easily replace him too?’ Maybe that would have been the smartest move!
