Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Analytics
Alex Schultz (he/him) is Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Analytics for Meta – a role he has held since 2020. He oversees marketing, product analytics, global experience and design + creative globally. As VP of Analytics, Alex built and runs Meta's data science and data engineering teams to help set strategy, provide business intelligence and drive user growth and engagement. Alex brings nearly two decades of direct response marketing experience to his CMO role and is responsible for the global marketing organisation promoting Meta's products and services to consumers and businesses.
Since joining Meta in 2007, Alex pioneered the integration of product and direct response marketing at the company and has run some of the biggest, most effective online direct response campaigns in the company's history. He was instrumental in growing the Facebook app, Instagram and Messenger to reach more than one billion users and helped launch some of Meta's most effective products and initiatives. Notably, in 2021, Alex and his team led the company's rebrand from Facebook to Meta. He is also the author of Click Here: The Art and Science of Digital Marketing and Advertising, which is now available for presale.
Alex is gay, uses he/him pronouns and is an active member of Meta's LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group. He holds an MSc in Natural Sciences from Magdalene College, Cambridge, specialising in experimental and theoretical physics. He resides in his hometown of London.
