This number is expected to hit 438 million by 2030.1 As pharmacy technicians, working in the health sector will bring you into contact with many people who have diabetes. This program has been developed to help you broaden your knowledge about diabetes and how it affects the people who are diagnosed with it.

About this program

This program includes seven courses that cover many aspects of diabetes. Each course has a pre-assessment quiz that reviews what you know about the topic before you start the course. After reading the course, complete the Evaluation Form and the Quiz at the end of the program. The Quiz will help you determine what you have learned and what information you may still need to review. In order to qualify for the CEUs for this course, you will need to achieve a score of 70% or higher on the Quiz. You will have two opportunities to achieve this score.

THE TOPICS COVERED IN COURSE 3 INCLUDE: P How does healthy eating benefit the patient with diabetes? P How do different types of foods affect diabetes? P What about drinking alcohol? P What are the benefits of physical activity or exercise for people with diabetes? P How much and what type of physical activity is recommended? P Should any precautions be taken prior to initiating or increasing physical activity? P How can physical activity be part of everyday living?
