How To Find Circumference of A Circle

The document explains how to calculate the circumference of a circle. It defines circumference as the perimeter of a circle and provides the formulas: Circumference = 2πr (using radius) and Circumference = πD (using diameter). It gives the value of π as approximately 3.14. Several examples are provided of calculating circumference given the radius or area of circles. The key steps are to use the appropriate formula, plug in the given value for radius or diameter, and calculate the circumference.

How to Find Circumference of a Circle

How to Find Circumference of a Circle In mathematics we deal with the round shape objects that are called the circle and circle has so many properties or terms that specify more the circle, such as radius, chord, diameter, secant and many more. Circumference is one of them. The definition of the circumference is: The perimeter of a circle is called circumference. The circumference's formula of a circle is given by the formula, Circumference, C = 2 * ? * r, In above formula r is the radius of the circle and is a constant value and is equal to 22 / 7 and to be more precise 3.142. We can also calculate the circumference of a circle by using its diameter and the formula for that is: Circumference, C = ? * D, In above example the value of ? is a same as above and D is the diameter of the circle.

We can simplify the value in 3.14 so that our calculations become easy to understand. Below are some examples that shows How to Find Circumference of a CircleExample 1: Determine the circumference of a circle when we have the radius 20? Solution: It is to be noted that circumference should be multiplied by 2 that is the length of the radius, Formula: - Circumference of circle = 2 ? r = 2 * 20 * ? = 125.6. Example 2: - Determine the circumference of a circle and we have area of the circle equals to 200.96? Solution: - This solution can be easily understood by the steps. Step 1: Find the radius of the circle ?. r2 = 200.96, r2 = 200.96 / 3.14, r2 = 64 r = 8. Step 2: Now we will calculate the Circumference of circle, Circumference of circle = 2 ? r = 2 * 8 * ? = 50.24. So, the circumference of the circle is 50.24. Example 3: - Determine the circumference of a circle when we have given its radius is 22? Solution: - It is to be noted that circumference should be multiplied by 2 that is the length of the radius, Circumference of circle = 2 ? r, Circumference = 2 * 22 * ? = 138.16. Example 4: - Determine the circumference of a circle when we have know the area of the circle that is 254.34? Solution: - This solution can be easily understood by the steps. Step 1: Find the radius of the circle ?. r2 = 254.34, r2 = 254.34 / 3.14, r2 = 81 r = 9. Step 2: Now calculate the circumference of the circle, Circumference of circle = 2 ? r = 2 * 9 * ? = 56.52. So, the circumference of the circle is 56.52.

Example 5: - Determine the circumference of a circle when we have the radius is 60? Solution: - It is to be noted that circumference should be multiplied by 2 that is the length of the radius, Circumference of circle = 2 ? r, Circumference = 2 * 60 * ? = 376.8. Example 1: Find the circumference of a circle given that its radius is 10. Solution: The circumference is always multiply by 2 the length of the radius, Formula Circumference of circle = 2 r Circumference = 2 x 10 x = 62.8
