Spot Report - Landmine Explosion

This memorandum summarizes a landmine explosion that injured and killed Philippine military personnel. Four members of the 1002nd BRC PA were injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in Brgy. 1. Please be informed that on or about 3:30 in the afternoon of this date, text message was received by this office stating landmine explosion, victimizing elements of 1002nd BRC PA led by LT ALDRIN MORAL at So. Dariango, Brgy. Sibulan, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. immediately, upon received such information, team this office was directed by the undersigned to coordinate with the 39IB PA and to proceed to the place of incident to conduct investigation. At about 4:00 in the afternoon of same date, said team together with 39IB PA led by COL OLIVER ARTUZ, Battalion Commander, arrived at the 39IB PA detachment at Brgy. Sibulan, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. 2. Investigation revealed that at about 2:00 in the afternoon of this date, while the elements of 1002nd BRC PA led by LT ALDRIN MORAL going to So Curem, Brgy Sibulan, Davao del Sur to conduct Peace and Development Outreached Program and upon reaching So. Dariango, Brgy. Sibulan a landmine was exploded injuring/wounding four (4) personnel identified as Sgt. Rannie Fuentes, CPL Ladia Basal Pata, PFC Rotchel Salba and PFC Charlie Centina. PFC Rotchel Salba was fatally wounded that cause his instantaneous death while PFC Charlie Centina, expired later on. 3. The two (2) wounded personnel were brought to Army Hospital at Panacan, Davao City while the two (2) cadavers were brought to Angel Funeral Parlor at Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur. 4. Motive of the incident and the person responsible for the explosion is still to be ascertained and established, and will relay to that office as soon as obtained 5. Progress report to follow and request acknowledge receipt.
