The child has symptoms of ADHD including inability to sit still, lack of concentration, and fidgeting fingers, putting them at risk for injury. The nurse diagnosed the risk for injury due to hyperactivity from ADHD. The nurse planned interventions for 2-3 hours to help the parents and child identify injury risks and provide a safe environment, such as providing an area for movement, removing sharp objects, and educating parents on managing ADHD and injury prevention.
