MD Curriculum

The Master of Design program requires completion of 60 credit hours over two years. In the first year, students take 18 credits in the fall and 18 credits in the spring, including courses in visual studies, design strategy and thinking, research methods, and colloquiums. They also complete a 3 credit hour co-op. In the second year, students take 12 credits each semester and complete their thesis, including thesis studios totaling 12 credit hours and colloquiums on thesis preparation. Optional independent study courses and master classes are also available.
